ESP32-CAM
I've always heard about this cool circuit board that does A LOT, so I wanted to try it. I discovered many potential applications, but I chose to build a tiny surveillance camera that securely sends videos to my computer and incorporates facial recognition. In other words, it detects if someone other than me is in my home.
First, I had to resolder the 0-ohm resistor in the correct position to enable the use of an external antenna for Wi-Fi connectivity.
Then I tested the connection with a simple script
Finally I used Arduino's libraries that include a template code for a cam webserver which I edited slightly for my specific board and camera
